Environmental Health Peer review support
During October and November 2009 the Environmental Health and Trading Standards service at Dudley MBC carried out a self- assessment against the excellence framework. This was followed by a Peer Challenge visit which concluded the following;
“The EHTS service at Dudley is very well placed to build further on the excellent services that they currently deliver. The teams are well motivated and have a positive approach to service improvements: they want to deliver excellence”
During the period of self assessment we approached Kate Millin, who was at the time Assistant Director, Libraries, Archives and Adult Learning, to assist us during the self assessment process. Kate was asked as someone who had a wealth of knowledge and experience in this field and we felt that experience would benefit the project.
Kate’s input to the project proved to be invaluable. She provided an insight into the process which helped the project team focus on the key issues which I have no doubt contributed to the service getting such a glowing review. Kate always made herself available to the team and despite, I am sure, having a high workload herself, was always willing to assist us whenever she was asked with enthusiasm and in a very competent manner.
Kate always came across as a very capable, professional individual.
